Concord Centennial: Part 1

The first concert in a series of three events celebrating the centenary the first edition of Charles Ives’ most important and iconic composition for the piano, the Piano Sonata No. 2: Concord, Mass., 1840-60. In each of these events, a new work commissioned in honor of this anniversary will be paired with a piano sonata by Ives.

Newly commissioned composers include Jason Eckardt (October 2019 premiere), Steven Roens (January 2020 premiere), Inés Thiebaut (January 2021 premiere) and Anthony Green (January 2021 premiere).
